This is a small painting on wood. I painted it in 1976. It symbolizes the great spiral that coils down, down to the very atomic spirals, deeper still to the heart of the atoms where it reappears in the great and distant cosmos above our heads.
The fisherman casts his line, aware of the cosmos as a single, unbroken continuum. Even our daily search for sustenance is directly connected to the alpha and the omega, the tiniest of atoms and the largest of the universal expressions. He casts his line into the Universal Self, knowing that the fish he catches comes only as a gift from the Universe Itself.
